Villa Midnattsol is a holiday house build in1999, situated 11 km north of the Arctic Circle. More specifically, you’ll find us in Rødøy, a coastal community in the county of Nordland, in Norway. Villa Midnattsol is easily get-at-able by road, FV17, air or sea.
It is a two-storey high-standard rural-style building.

First floor contains living room (32 m 2 ), fully equipped kitchen (15 m 2), bedroom and toilet. From the first floor living room of Villa Midnattsol you can enjoy a magnificent and wide view of sea, islands and mountains. For your use on evenings that you prefer not to spend either in the garden or elsewhere outdoors, there is a snug open fireplace with plenty of firewood.

On the ground floor of Villa Midnattsol you will find a small porch, an entrance hall, a big bathroom and toilet, and 3 bedrooms with sleeping accommodation for altogether 8 persons. In the garage there is a freezer for your use.

The sitting-out area in the garden is fitted with barbecue facilities, where you can roast e.g. fish you have caught either in the sea or in nearby lakes. Also from here you can enjoy a most majestic panorama of fjords and snow-capped mountains, and, in summer, of the midnight sun. For your use there is a boat with an outboard engine for fjord fishing, if you do not prefer using your fishing rod from the beach or from a crag.

Depending on the season, and from an in- or outdoor position, you can experience really lashing winter storms, or calm weather, rain or sun, warm summer evenings when the sun simply refuses to dip beneath the horizon, or freezing cold winter days when only a faintly pink horizon will tell you where the sun is just now. All told, the scenery and the nature in which Villa Midnattsol is situated is one that can be found only on the wild and torn coastline of Nordland.

The area surrounding Villa Midnattsol is well suited for outings and hiking where you can watch a surprisingly rich fauna, in the air or on the ground. The sea eagle nests and catches its fish here, just to mention one species. You can go trout fishing to privately owned near-by lakes. Norway’s second biggest glacier, the Svartisen, is not far from Villa Midnattsol. We will be happy to help you arrange trips to the glacier.

Villa Midnattsol is approximately 70 m from the seashore. 20 km from Villa Midnattsol you can take a car ferry from Jektvik. Jektvik is a village-like community with a general store and a cafe.
